The theme of Frost Bridal Designer Competition 2011: Contestants are requested to design their own style as long as it is in keeping with the competition’s theme: “Vintage Redefined“. The participating designers are encouraged to think out of the box about vintage-style dresses and “redefine” it. It is the new era of vintage. The vintage style can be used as an inspiration rather than an actual use of vintage fabric. The sky is the limit for the designers to express their interpretation of the theme while designing and producing the bridal gown. Each participant has to put their own imagination and vision into it. Whether the designer’s style is whimsical, trendy, bold, romantic, subtle or simply classic, each one can design within the “Vintage Redefined” theme. Each can have their own mood board and inspiration, as long as it reflects the vintage revolution’s desired effect. And the designer should explain to the judges how his/her design came about in a covering letter explaining the design. The theme is placed to set a direction and ambiance to the competition. Moreover, contestants will be evaluated on their ability to create within the given theme.
